About Us

Handcrafted in Jodhpur. Delivered to the World.

At Hansa Handicraft, we believe that a home is more than four walls — it's a reflection of the stories, cultures, and craftsmanship you choose to surround yourself with. Founded in the heart of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India — the Blue City, the craft capital of the world — we are a family of artisans, designers, and makers dedicated to bringing centuries-old inlay traditions into modern living spaces across the globe.

Every bone inlay mirror, every mother of pearl console table, every hand-stitched leather bag that leaves our workshop carries with it the skill of craftsmen who have inherited their art across generations.

Our Story

Jodhpur has been a centre of artisanal excellence for over 500 years. Its workshops have supplied royal palaces, luxury hotels, and interior designers from London to Los Angeles. Hansa Handicraft was born from this legacy — with a simple mission: to make the world's finest handcrafted home décor accessible to anyone who appreciates true quality.

We started with a small workshop, a handful of master artisans, and an obsession with doing things the right way — sourcing ethically, crafting meticulously, and delivering honestly. Today we serve customers across more than 100 countries, shipping via DHL, FedEx, and Aramex, but our process remains the same as it always has been: made by hand, one piece at a time.

What We Make

Bone Inlay Furniture & Décor

Our signature collection. Each piece begins with a solid hardwood frame — teak, walnut, or MDF — which our artisans hand-carve into intricate floral, geometric, and mosaic patterns. Individually cut fragments of ethically sourced bone are then set into resin, piece by piece, to create the signature shimmering surface that bone inlay is known for. No two pieces are ever identical.

Our bone inlay range includes mirror frames, console tables, coffee tables, bedside tables, chest of drawers, serving trays, jewellery boxes, wall clocks, and more — available in 11 colours including classic white, deep navy blue, sage green, and blush pink.

Mother of Pearl Inlay

Where bone inlay is bold and graphic, mother of pearl is luminous and fluid. Our MOP collection uses ethically sourced shell fragments to create furniture and décor that shifts colour with the light — iridescent, elegant, and unmistakably luxurious. From mirror frames to bedside tables to pen holders, each piece is a work of art that functions beautifully in daily life.

Leather Goods

Handcrafted in full-grain and genuine leather, our bags and accessories are made to last decades. We produce crossbody bags, backpacks, tote bags, laptop bags, wallets, and messenger bags — each stitched by hand and finished with the same attention to detail that defines everything we make.

Wood, Brass & Copper

Our wooden furniture range spans teak, walnut, and burl veneer — each piece showcasing the natural grain and warmth of the timber. Our brass and copper collections bring the metalwork traditions of Rajasthan into your home in the form of decorative objects, vessels, and accent pieces.

Our Craft Process

Making a single bone inlay piece is a labour of patience. Here's what goes into every order:

  1. Frame Construction — A solid hardwood or MDF base is built and sanded to precise dimensions.
  2. Pattern Carving — Artisans hand-carve the design directly into the surface, creating shallow recesses for each inlay fragment.
  3. Bone Cutting — Ethically sourced camel or buffalo bone is cut into tiny fragments — some no larger than a fingernail.
  4. Inlay Setting — Each fragment is hand-placed and set into coloured resin. For a single mirror frame, this step alone can take 8–12 hours.
  5. Sanding & Finishing — The surface is sanded flush, polished, and sealed with a non-toxic clear coat for durability.
  6. Quality Inspection — Every piece is inspected before packing. Minor natural variations in colour and pattern are expected and celebrated — they are the signature of the handmade.
